Priestess of Valerian – Black Hat Villain Review

Paul Bettany, a famous warrior priest, lives alone in a city community ruled over by his church. He lives in an abandoned society which has been devastated by decades of civil conflict between vampires and humans. When a group of vicious vampires capture his niece and kidnap her, the priest violates his vow and sets out on a personal quest to save her before vampires put the final bite on her. His ex-priestess and old friend (Lily Collins) who has supernatural powers are with him on his dangerous quest. They confront an evil organization which seeks to take over the human race with the latest deadly virus to wipe them all out. The charismatic leader Sam Haine commands the vampire group and recruits Victoria (Emma Watson).

The priest and his friends are involved in a power struggle with the current ruler as they hunt the evil organization. The current ruler is controlled by vampires, who become the primary threat to the lives and safety of priests and others. As the threat increases the priest must choose which side to take…

Annabel Wishston, one the few survivors of the original epidemic, returns to her role as the Countess. After marrying a wealthy merchant, she was raised in a sheltered atmosphere. She quickly makes her way into society and becomes close friends and guards David (Barry Foster). David offers to guard Annabel and allows her to reside with him. Shortly after this the two of them join in the pursuit of the elusive Dracula. But he is aware that he won’t be able to be successful and decides that it is time for him to rekindle his love or with a new person or with Countess.

Annabel soon has two new acquaintances, Steve Loughlin (John Loughlin) and Tommy Eliaunder (Eliaunder). They form the backbone of her vampire hunter group, the Priests. They are initially led by her, primarily because she is an aspiring young woman. However, she soon realizes that her family relationships will be more important as she hunts her foe. We see women in support of Dracula and participating in his hunt.

The novel is primarily about the relationship between Dracula and the Priestess, but there are also other aspects that aren’t so evident. There are priests who help the Priestess fight the vampires. These are called the Walled Cities. These are places which were completely isolated from the outside world and were only supported by the aid of a self-made defense force led by the Priests. ดูหนัง The Walled Cities were not only intended to shield the inhabitants from Dracula but as well from other threats.

One scene in the movie shows the Priestess giving directions to the girls in her twenties who assist her in her mission. One of the directives is to kill all vampires they encounter. When the girls and Priestess are found dead they are buried and their souls are held in the Walled City. The movie then cuts to fifteen years after when the priestess is interrogated by an investigator.

During this time the movie gives us another look into the thoughts of priests during this time period. As they try to explain to the investigator what transpired, they become distracted by their own past. They are saddened by the deaths of their own sisters and wish that they had aided the others in their deaths. This movie provides some insight into how a vampire would see the world around them, including both the good and evil that was prevalent in the time.

Overall, this was a fun vampire movie to watch. It’s enjoyable for both young and old viewers. The acting was great, the story was well told and the special effects were good. I hope that someone will see this movie known for its excellent vampire film and will be enticed by the story to go and watch the next film: “Priestess of Valerian”.
